I had an elderly customer come into the store, where I used to work, 5 minutes before closing time and spent 20 minutes completing this shopping. I did not have the heart to tell him to hurry up. And then....his card got declined. I made him put everything back.

Had a customer like this just a few days ago. Store was about to close, we have an automatic speaker that calls out that the store soon will be closed . It calls out 15, 10, and 5 minutes before closing Just as the speaker goes " We're closing now, please come again tomorrow" this one fucking dude comes to the register, and I shit you not... With a FULL shopping cart. Like he had groceries for a month! He walks up to me and says proudly "Whoa I made it just in time!" No, no you didn't you asshole. Thanks to you I now have to stay an extra 10 minutes here while I've already worked for 9 hours. When he was done, I rushed to my locker, got Mt stuff and ran out. It was just pouring down rain, and hadn't that shithead decided to be a dick, I would have made it home BEFORE the rain...

Sometimes it is the only 2 minutes that your customer has to get in your store. And it helps to pay your salary. :). I don't know why you get mad about it.

Yea working in retail most my life as a cook i understand your frustration but just because the restraunt closes at 10:00 pm doesnt mean you should be able to leave by 10:05... i lose respect for impatient workers who i see mopping and breaking down half an hour before closing Seriously it closes at 10 the last customer should get the same treatment as the first... their paying the same amount

Start cleaning 15 min before you close Customers dont realy feel welcome so they go away faster

Happened to me last 2 month.. the store closed at 10pm. And at 10pm they started to queue at my counter. I'm a cashier.

Happened tonight in the restaurant I work at dude decided to place a Togo order 5 min till we close and lock the doors dude shows up 20 min after (we are not supposed to open the doors once locked) but we took him in the complained the food was cold stiffed the bartender who cashed him out...he got a burger in which case a 24/7 burger joint is right next to us...
